As I add a juicing recipe to the blog I will include it here for reference.

Juice Recipes for Runners - I am often asked for good juice recipes to help with exercise so here goes, this is what has powered me through thousand of miles of running.

The Phil Staples Juice  aka Hail the Kale
6 kale leaves
1 cucumber
4 celery stalks
2 apples
1/2 lemon
lump of ginger

Beetlejuice Recipe

1 apple
4 carrots
2 beets (or 1 big beet!) And beet is a beetroot for my British friends.

Lighten Up Morrissey Juice Recipe

2 large Red Beets
3 medium Carrots
2 stalks Celery
5 Plum Tomatoes
4 cups Parsley, leaves and stems, roughly chopped and packed into the measuring cup
1 Jalapeno, ribs and seeds removed
1 red pepper
Dash of Worcester Sauce

The Brendan Brazier Juice

1 apple
1 pear
1/2 English cucumber
4 celery stalks
lump of lemon
big lump of ginger

All juiced and then blended with:
handful of pineapple chunks
coconut water
Vega Sport Optimiser.

Cold War -

4 carrots
2 apples
1/2 inch ginger
ice cubes

Juice Master Detox Special
2 apples
1 carrot
1 slice of lemon (rind on)
1/4 yellow bell pepper
1 inch slice of cucumber
1/4 piece of celery
1 inch broccoli stem
1 inch slice raw beetroot


Beyond Detox

3 apples
1 large handful of spinach
1 inch raw beetroot
1 inch slice cucumber
Parsley ( I didn’t have any.)
1/2 ripe avocado

Sesame Treat

2 Bosc Pears juiced

and blend them with:

A cup or so of blueberries
tablespoon of tahini paste
1/2 of a frozen banana
some soy milk (use any non dairy alternative)
and raw cacoa powder.

This is delicious and all completely natural, a nice sweet treat. In fact because of the tahini I think I will call this one Sesame Treat!

Beet It!

2 carrots
2 kale leaves
1/2 beet
1/4 head of cabbage
1/4 bunch of parsley
2 celery stalks
1 garlic clove (optional – not for the fainthearted. My advice is to make this without the garlic first.)

Carrots for Breakfast Juice

1 inch slice of ginger
4 carrots
1 apple
1 lemon

Green Juice for beginners

Many of you wrote in to say you struggle with some of the green juices out there. So we designed this one as an introduction. Plenty of goodness in this and a lot of fruit to make it sweet. You will need to start paring this down at some point but it is a great way to get into making and enjoying a green juice.

2 cup beet greens. Now Beet Greens are a powerhouse but very potent so no more than 2 cups please.
2 cups red swiss chard
2 cups kale
2 cups spinach
1 apple
1/2 pear
10 strawberries. Keep the green tops on.
1 cup coconut water. Again this will sweeten the juice and coconut water is excellent for hydration.

Irish Lemonade

1 green apple
3 handfuls of spinach
6-8 kale leaves
4 celery stalks
1/2 lemon
4 leaf shamrock ;-) just kidding about that one.

Great Greens Juice

2 green apples
2-3 cups spinach
6-8 leaves Swiss Chard
1 cucumber
4 celery stalks
1/2 fennel bulb.
1 bunch basil.

Green Ginger Juice

6 kale leaves
2 cups spinach
1/2 cucumber
4 stalks celery
2 apples
1 inch slice of ginger.

Natural Lemon and Lime

1 lemon
1 lime
2 Pears
2 green apples
2 carrots
1 inch slice of ginger
2 cups purple cabbage

I love spicy food – I have hot sauce with nearly everything. Here are two great spicy juice recipes for you heat lovers.

Spicy Mango Juice

1 mango
1/2 cucumber
1/4 yellow pepper
1/2 jalapeno
2 green onions/shallots
1/4 cup cilantro
1/2 lime
as with cooking you can remove the seeds from the jalapeno if you prefer to dial back the heat level.

A Taste of Mexico Juice

2 large cucumbers
4 cups cilantro – leaves and stems
1 lime
1 poblano pepper, ribs and seeds removed.
1 apple.

One of the desserts I truly adore is apple pie. There is no wonder I moved to the USA from Europe then! Apple pie is a treat for me so here is a juice recipe bursting with nutrients.

The Humble Apple Pie Juice.

1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
3 apples
3 carrots.
