Some of you may have seen the sneak preview of the video I have made for the blog.
I am dressed in my business suit. I agonised over that because every other ‘juicer’ out there is filmed in his tracksuit or her yoga gear.
I decided I would wear the suit to show that juicers are not just new age hippie types. Joe Cross is not a hippy. Phil Staples is not a hippy and as you can tell from my photos and the video I am not exactly a hippy either.
I was pleased to watch a video tonight of MMA fighter Jon Jones making his first juice!
This is what UFC fighter Jon Jones’s physician Dr Pickman had to say:
“Jon had asked me casually about eating and what I would recommend for him to do that would give him any benefit in terms of energy and endurance. I said if you’re like most people you haven’t eaten enough raw vegetables and he agreed.”
“He eats a high protein high meat diet and doesn’t get enough of the micro-nutrients you can get from raw veggies. Dark green leafy vegetables have more B vitamins, calcium, folate, iron….
“The mixture I recommended is mostly green leafy vegetables like kale, spinach and chard, plus beets, carrots, ginger and a little apple and lemon for flavor.”
“I’ve been talking to Jon almost daily. He says he has more energy and feels better.”
Watch the video of Jones making his first juice.
I love his reaction when he talks of getting a juicing high from the first few sips of juicing. I think we all feel that. For many of us we are consuming more greens in that juice that we sometimes consume all week.
By the way I have no problem with hippies, a lot of those guys were pioneers of the juicing lifestyle.
